Why, look at that! She's at my house!
I'd like to thank the internet, Typepad, Kristina Nicolai-White, and Suzanne Bailey for making this serendipitous lunch date possible with Kelli Crowe. (Ahem, Garden Girl Kelli Crowe, hee hee). I just happened to notice that Kelli and her husband John David were in Monterey last night after reading Kelli's blog... said "hey, I'm not that far away if you want to take a side trip!" and after a quick flurry of excited emails and a phone call, they were on their way. I just hope I wasn't too flushed and sweaty from running around like a chicken with my head cut off cleaning up in time for them to arrive. It's not every day you get the chance to meet your online scrapbooking friend from Georgia who just happens to be driving by on her way to Napa Valley, though.
John David is a patient, patient man (or a sucker) as within 2 minutes of his appearance, Maddie and Gracie were playing their favorite game, entitled "PLAY WITH US PLAY WITH US PLAY WITH US" and he kindly obliged. Kelli and I caught up on all sorts of things like kids and families and scrapbooking (lots of scrapbooking) and travel and military spouse-dom (her former, my present) and all sorts of other things. It's actually a little eerie how two women who have never actually met in real life can pick up where they left off... especially when there is no initial leave-off point.
Quite randomly, Gracie walked up to Kelli and made this face (see photo below) without being prompted or egged on by her sister in any way. We're not sure exactly what that was about, but it was funny.
Come back any time, Kelli, but maybe give me 3 hours notice next time so I have time to cool off before you ring the doorbell. : )
