Last week Maddie brought home a flyer for the County Education Center's student art show, which indicated that a piece of her artwork had been chosen for display. We were invited to attend the opening reception—fun, and fun to make it a big deal for Maddie. Matt managed to make it home by 7:15 so I could take her over for the last 45 minutes of the reception.
BECAUSE I HAD TO TAKE IT THROUGH THE CLOSED DOOR. The reception was Wednesday night, not Friday night. It's been a long month here. Bad mama points for me.
It's a good thing this child is so adaptable. We took pictures anyway. Ten feet away from here is the Planetarium, and there was a Hubble Telescope program beginning at 7:30 pm which I would have taken her to instead, but I didn't have $5 on me for admission. Nice. Bad, bad mama points.
Just before she traded in her mama for a new alien one...
It's not Central American-inspired artwork, but it's still pretty.
