So, Katherine posted about her 11th birthday recently when she received a trombone. I see her one photo and raise her twelve, because guess what? Unbeknownst to Katherine, her 11th birthday party might have been her most documented birthday ever. I had just received my first SLR (a Canon Rebel) for high school graduation a few weeks before, and her birthday was a fantastic first big photo shoot for me. In both color AND black and white. Hee hee. Evidence:
I cannot figure out why she has a flower in her armpit in all these photos. And, yikes, my poisonous magnetic albums are starting to eat these photos. I need another six hours a day to deal with THAT problem.
Did someone just give me a trombone??!?
Just in case you couldn't make out that other senior photo in her picture. Black and white doesn't provide the full effect of the purple houndstooth short-sleeved Laura Ashley sweater I was wearing.
Matt was there! And he wasn't a brand-new boyfriend, either. Katherine will turn 30 this year, if that gives you a better idea of how long he's been around.
Marie, recently finished with her freshman year of high school.
I'm going to pay for this one.
Quick! Distract Marie! I think my mama can see into outer space with these glasses! In her defense, she has very nice, trendy glasses these days and I haven't seen those white plastic-covered hoop earrings since this picture was taken.
Our sweet little dog, Carmen, apparently wasn't allowed to join in the festivities.
My favorite birthday shot, ever.
