When I was teaching, I missed a lot of school for speech and debate tournaments and Delphian tours. Preparing for a sub nearly did me in every time. If I was sick, sometimes I decided it would just be easier to go than to prepare for a sub. I am currently in the process of preparing for the most complex sub job ever—a week of sub plans for school/activities/three small and sometimes very needy children while Matt and I attend a week long Air Force training course. The subs we've hired are experts (Grandma and Grandpa) but that doesn't make it any less complicated. I need some Tylenol just from putting together the packet of directions for all the places they'll need to know how to get to and from.
But! Even though things will be slow around this blog until April, I wanted to share something fun before I go... perfect for a fun spring break activity or just some spring weekend project.
An artist trading card swap for kids, organized by age! Brilliant. Maddie and Gracie will be officially participating (Bridget will play along and send hers to family since the age cut-off is four years old). It's easy to sign up and the promise of fun and arty mail holds a lot of weight in this household. Click on that image to learn more about participating!
I'm checking a new state off my list tomorrow. Yippee! That is, if I can get the 8,729 things on my list done before the plane pulls out of DIA. Wish me luck : )
