Matt and I keep hearing about albums turning 20 years old this year and have been kind of gobsmacked about some of them, because...well, how did that happen?!? Here's a sampling of some of our 1994 albums in iTunes:
+ Dave Matthews Band, Under the Table and Dreaming
+ Bush, Sixteen Stone
+ The Black Crowes, Amorica
+ Hootie & the Blowfish, Cracked Rear View
+ Big Head Todd & the Monsters, Strategem
+ The Beastie Boys, Ill Communication
+ Arrested Development, Zingalamaduni
+ Beck, Mellow Gold
!! There are more, but geez. Are we edging into a new era of classic rock, led by Beck and Mike D and Dave Matthews?
So then I got to thinking about how the girls hear this music—the old people music of their parents? Does it stand up? I was definitely a major consumer of music by the time I was Maddie's age, which got me to thinking what 20 year old music sounded like to ME when I was HER age.
And then I made a playlist of one song from each of the top 20 albums of 1964.
And then I passed out from old age.
