We went to the Bay Area Discovery Museum today as the last hurrah of the long Thanksgiving weekend. It's a nice museum, though it is nowhere near as fun as the Children's Museum of Denver. The girls had fun—especially Gracie—though they were both a little put out that they were the only kids there whose parents apparently do not understand the concept of raingear, having lived in the high plains and dry mountains for the past 11.5 years. Since the museum is divided between old army post buildings, there was some walking involved—and it rained the whole time. As we say in this family, it was a little coldy-coldy.
The art studio building was the biggest hit! Gracie ended up with paint in her hair, on her forehead, and streaked across her clothing, but we could hardly deny her the sheer joy she got from painting on a window.
The big magnet board was just the right height.
A very cool bead/painted macaroni/button mobile thingy that might become the basis of a special holiday edition Art Friday.
Look! We finally drove across the Golden Gate Bridge!
