Last summer, I turned around and accidentally cracked Gracie in the face with my camera lens at the Butterfly Pavilion and gave her a bloody nose.
I haven't felt so bad in a long time.
Recently, I saw this:
It's a little gadget that allows the strap to connect to the tripod hole instead of on the side, allowing the camera to lay flat on your side when it's not in use instead of having it bounce around, putting small children at risk of injury. I don't really like messing around with my camera strap because I am not particularly confident in my abilities to secure buckle-y/strap things properly after undoing them, but I carefully installed it today and report back now with the verdict: genius.
Gracie will no doubt give it two thumbs up : )
