Big Picture Classes is rerunning my Design Challenges workshop for a third time beginning September 26! Each time we've added a little more content—the second time around, Stacy Julian joined in and completed the twelve design challenges and recorded a series of videos to explain how she interpreted each one. This time around, Stacy's videos will be included but a new feature will be added: a live blog with 24 new pages, commentary, and tips. My partner in crime for this live blog is my friend and fellow scrapbooker Erica Hernandez, who is one of the sharpest page designers and clever memory keepers you'll ever see. I'm really excited to see how she demonstrates the design principles in each challenge.
a few sneak peeks I shared on the Big Picture Classes Instagram feed (@bigpictureclasses) this week, where I'm the guest Instagrammer of the week. Come say hello!
I'm not going to lie: it's been a while since I've scrapbooked properly. The first eight months of this year were all about The Phone Photography Project, photography/design work in Cheyenne and selling our stuff at the Urban Legend Garage Sale, and exactly zero scrapbooking took place. It's been super-fun to get back into it and see how differently I approach prompts I wrote for myself more than two years ago. Challenges never really get old that way because time, perspective, and experience tend to shake things up just enough to make it fun all over again! There's another twist, too: all the new content will feature phone photos. Erica and I will convince you that the photos you take on your phone should NOT be allowed to waste away on your camera roll.
You can read more about Design Challenges here. There will be a special low alumni price for anyone who has already taken the workshop and wants to play along again with all the new layouts/commentary, and registration will be open through October 2.
Want to win a spot in Design Challenges? Just leave a comment and tell me when you last scrapbooked! As per usual here, I'll leave comments open until... I close them. Maybe Friday night? Hard to say for sure, since I've spent the last few Friday nights conked out on the couch by 8:15 pm, sleeping off five day blocks of middle school wake up time : )
