I was looking around for info this week on one of my favorite shrubs, the Bridal Wreath Spiraea pictured, and this made me giggle.
We watched the most amazing episode of Vice tonight; jaw-droppingly hopeful news about cancer treatment and the hunt for a cure. Even if you don't subscribe to HBO, you can still watch a few clips.
Along the same lines, this episode of 60 Minutes from last weekend is equally amazing. Our lifetimes! It's a possibility.
On a lighter note, we watched a stand-up comedy special from the new host of The Daily Show, and he was super-funny and smart in a way that should be a perfect fit.
It's the 2015 Month of the Military Child, and everyone should read this and this whether you're military or not. (And thank you to the many, many non-military teachers and friends who have helped this family's military kids adjust and thrive in yet another place).
As much as I'm going to mourn moving away from my favorite bookstore in Montgomery, I am most excited about spending all our grocery money here beginning in July.
I was researching the big hot air balloon festival in Albuquerque recently and discovered that Indianola, Iowa is hosting a balloon festival again! This makes me so happy, as I have very good memories of walking from my grandparents' home in Indianola to the park where the hot air balloons took off for their races when I was growing up. They lost the festival for a while, so discovering they were able to figure out a way to host one again is great news. Indianola is tiny—only 15,000 people.
And finally, this might be the funniest thing I've seen on the internet in a long time. It's just so useful to say.
