Three Cheers for Target
Maddie likes dressing up as literary characters for Halloween, but she was short on inspiration this year—nothing was hitting her the right way. She settled on The Wicked Witch of the West in a lukewarm way on Decision Day (October 1) but it wasn't until we buckled down in Target the week before Halloween and found everything she needed (save for the broom, which I bought at the Texas Renaissance Festival) that she started to actually get really excited about her costume. It took us a long time and many trips to the same sections to find the perfect stuff, but we did it. She was tickled by the green "tree-finger" gloves.
