Pumpkins, Barely
With dreams of the Happy Apple and Butler Farms and Miller Farms in our heads, we thought we might find the perfect place and afternoon to pick vegetables and find pumpkins and generally enjoy fall. None of these things happened, and it was a trick to find pumpkins ANYWHERE at the very last minute—even most of the grocery stores were sold out. I called over to a lesser-known grocery store in a little neighboring town, and they had a bin of about 30 left (whew) so we got to carve on Tuesday night. This might be my favorite batch of carved pumpkins we've had in a while.
