Gracie, Bridget and I were running errands at Fort Myer last week; our first stop was the post office. On our way there, I drove up to a big detour/road closed sign, and then an army guy (Matt will be rolling his eyes at my inability to describe uniformed military from a distance longer than my outstretched arm as anything but "guy" or "lady") jumped out in front of the van and put his hands up for me to stop. Great. Actually, as I looked right I realized it WAS great. We were about to get a front seat to the Inauguration parade rehearsal of The United States Army Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps! Despite the fact that it was 12ยบ outside, we rolled down the windows and enjoyed our perfect spot while they marched past in full gear. We were in the right place at the right time.
